City of Grover Beach logoOn Nov. 5, Grover Beach voters cast their ballots in the General Municipal Election, selecting new leaders and making decisions on key local issues. Following the County Clerk-Recorder’s official certification of the election results, the newly elected City Council members will be sworn into office at the Dec. 9 Council meeting

The incoming members of the Grover Beach City Council are:

  • Mayor: Kassi Dee
  • District 3 Council Member: Kathy McCorry

The City will also honor outgoing Mayor Karen Bright for her more than 12 years of service and contributions to the community. During her tenure, Mayor Bright championed initiatives and progress in housing, public safety, infrastructure improvements and economic development.

“I am deeply proud of all the progress we have made together as a City and grateful for the opportunity to have served Grover Beach citizens,” said Mayor Bright. “I look forward to seeing the City continue to thrive under its new leadership.”

The swearing-in ceremony will officially seat incoming Mayor Dee and Council Member McCorry.

“I am honored to be elected as the next Mayor of Grover Beach,” said Mayor-Elect Dee. “I look forward to working alongside our Council, staff and community to build on our progress to date and create new opportunities for residents.”

Councilmember-elect McCorry added, “I am grateful to the residents of District 3 for entrusting me with this role. I am committed to listening to the community and working collaboratively to address our shared goals.”

In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, the City Council will consider options for filling the District 2 council vacancy resulting from the recall of that seat.
