City of La Cañada Flintridge logoAt its July 15 regular meeting, the La Cañada Flintridge City Council unanimously selected Kim Bowman to serve as Mayor and Jeanne Kim Hobson as Mayor Pro Tem for the coming year. Each July, the Council designates one of its members for the roles of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem.

Outgoing Mayor Michael T. Davitt reflected on his term and expressed heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues and the community. “It has been an honor to serve as Mayor over the past year,” said Davitt. “I am deeply grateful for the support, collaboration and resilience of our residents and my fellow Councilmembers.”

Following a unanimous vote, Kim Bowman accepted the ceremonial gavel and shared his appreciation for the Council’s confidence in his leadership.

“I am humbled by this opportunity to serve as Mayor and look forward to working alongside my colleagues and the community to build on the City’s strong foundation,” said Mayor Bowman.

Mayor Bowman then nominated Jeanne Kim Hobson for Mayor Pro Tem. With no further nominations, the Council again voted unanimously in favor.

City Manager Daniel Jordan recognized the leadership transition, stating, “We thank Mayor Davitt for his dedication and steady guidance over the past year. With Kim Bowman at the helm, La Cañada Flintridge is well-positioned to continue thriving as an exceptional place to live, work and visit.”
