City of Vacaville City Manager Savita Chaudhary appointed Brian Oxley as the new Public Works Director, bringing experienced leadership to one of the City’s most critical service departments.

Mr. Oxley assumes the role through a direct appointment, having most recently served as the City’s Assistant Public Works Director overseeing Engineering. In this role, Mr. Oxley will lead the City’s Public Works Department, which includes engineering, streets, traffic, parks maintenance, facilities, and delivery of the City’s capital improvement program. His appointment was effective January 1, 2026.

“Brian’s leadership, technical expertise, and institutional knowledge positions him well to guide Vacaville’s Public Works Department,” said Ms. Chaudhary. “His experience managing complex infrastructure projects and collaborating across departments will be critical as the City continues to grow and evolve.”

Mr. Oxley has more than 25 years of experience in public works and municipal engineering. He initially began work with the City of Vacaville in 2022. His background includes design engineering, capital project delivery, transportation systems, utilities, asset management, sustainability, and workforce development.

“I’m honored to lead the Public Works team in this new role,” Mr. Oxley said. “Vacaville is a community with a clear vision for the future, and I look forward to working with staff, residents, and regional partners to maintain reliable services and deliver high-quality infrastructure.”
