
City of Imperial
Under the direction of the City Manager, plan, organize and direct the operations, activities and functions of the Administrative Services department including general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, utility billing and grants; direct and participate in the development, monitoring, analysis, maintenance, auditing and adjustment of City accounts, funds, and budgets; train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. The position also oversees the daily functions and activities of the City Clerk and Public Records Divisions.
Qualifications
- EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field and three (3) years increasingly responsible fiscal experience including demonstrated experience in governmental accounting.
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in finance, accounting, business, public administration, or a related field. A master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.
- CERTIFICATION: CPA Certification is highly desirable.

The candidate will possess strength of character and depth of knowledge to inspire and lead the Administrative Services Department’s talented, dedicated staff. The candidate will be a key member of the Executive Management Team, provide financial advice to the City Manager and City Council, maintain fiscal stability, administer the payroll, and safeguard the assets of the City.
The City is looking for someone with a wealth of experience in accounting and running City investment portfolios, who has the willingness to bring a hands-on approach to the department.
