Located in the center of the Silicon Valley, the Mountain View Fire Department (MVFD) serves a residential population of 86,535, major corporations and a thriving small business community spanning the city’s 12 square miles. The Department responds to 10,600 unit calls for service each year and is supported by 92 full-time personnel.
The Mountain View Fire Department is seeking a dynamic and team-oriented leader and excellent communicator with the demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and project managers. In-depth knowledge and experience in the execution of emergency services training with an emphasis in structural, hazmat, high-rise and wildland fire fighting, as well as EMS is expected.
Qualifications include bachelor’s degree, six years of broad and increasingly responsible experience in fire suppression and fire prevention work, two years of which must have been at the rank of Fire Captain (equivalent to a company officer) or higher in a municipal paid fire department in similar size or larger than MVFD.
