Salary: $10,785 – $13,782 monthly
The City of West Hollywood is seeking an experienced, engaging, and creative Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility professional to join our team in the Office of the City Manager. The Equity & Inclusion Officer is a new position to focus on the development, implementation, oversight, and promotion of citywide diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) initiatives. The Equity & Inclusion Officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading organization-wide diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) efforts to integrate DEIA frameworks and tools into City operations, services, programs, and community interactions. The Equity & Inclusion Officer serves as a key strategist for the City’s DEIA efforts in all City programs and practices. This position will work collaboratively across the organization and foster partnerships internally as well as with constituents and the community to apply equity and social justice principles.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field; Master’s degree in related field is preferrable; and,
- Four to five years of progressively responsible related experience of program management, including professional experience in diversity and inclusion, social or environmental justice, community initiatives, or public accessibility; or,
- Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Position reports to: Assistant to the City Manager
