The City of Mountain View (pop. 83,000) is regarded as one of the safest and best places to live and work in the Bay Area. This Silicon Valley municipality maintains an AAA credit rating and remains resilient in the face of economic uncertainty. Mountain View is supported by a FY2022-23 all-funds budget of $470 million ($165 million General Fund) and over 650 employees.  

The Finance & Administrative Services Director will lead a team of 36 that is responsible for the financial affairs and internal support activities of the City. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and results-oriented financial professional with a passion for modernization. Enthusiasm for leading change in an empowering and supportive environment will be expected. Successful candidates will have five years of increasingly responsible public sector finance experience, including three years in a managerial capacity. A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree or CPA license is preferred.  

Salary range $214,465 – $294,889 (4% increase scheduled for July 1, 2023); salary supplemented by a highly competitive benefits package. Flexible/hybrid schedule available + hiring bonus may be considered.
