City of Oxnard

The City of Oxnard (pop. 200,000) is located on the California coast between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. The Public Works Department is supported by an annual FY2023-24 budget of $290 million and approximately 500 staff. The Parks Manager reports to one of the Department’s three Assistant Public Works Directors, supervising 35 FTE’s and a budget of $16.2 million.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and engaged manager with experience handling and overseeing landscaped areas, urban forestry, and park programs for a comparable organization, complemented by experience in facilities construction, repair, and maintenance, budget development and oversight, and contract administration. An associate’s degree, five (5) years of maintenance and operations including two (2) years of supervisory experience is required. Salary range for this position is $70,931.95 – $135,644.50 DOEQ (+3% July 2024) plus competitive benefits.
