The department is organized across four Bureaus: Investigations, Operations, Professional Standards, and Support Services, with each headed by a Captain or Deputy Director.

Bachelor’s degree, POST Management Certificate, and ten years of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience, including three years of management and administrative responsibility, are required.
