Located in San Mateo County just twelve miles south of San Francisco, Pacifica feels worlds away from it, yet is easily accessible from Highway 1. The most panoramic coastal town in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a population of approximately 38,600, Pacifica is a unique family-oriented coastal community that prides itself on fostering a “small town” feel. The Public Works Department is supported by a $4.9 million operating budget and 65 staff across three divisions.
The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable public works professional with broad experience in infrastructure maintenance and capital project management. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills and be an accessible manager who enjoys mentoring and developing staff and building a strong team environment. Ideal candidates will bring 5 years of public works professional experience, including at least 3 years of supervision, along with a Bachelor’s degree.
