The now former police chief of Oakwood, Tex. has been charged with aggravated assault after using a taser gun on his wife in the aftermath of a verbal argument.
The Associated Press reported that Oly Ivy was fired by the city council the same night of his arrest.
Ivy’s attorney told the AP, “[Ivy] is taking these allegations very seriously.” He says he intends for Ivy to “be treated the same as anybody in this situation.”
Ivy was the only full-time officer of the 500 resident town.
