Late night talk show host Conan O’Brien “banned” a New Jersey mayor from California in a comedic back and forth between the entertainer and Newark Mayor Cory Booker.

The lighthearted battle began in one of Conan’s monologues when he joked that, “The Mayor of Newark, New Jersey wants to set up a citywide program to improve residents’ health. The health care program would consist of a bus ticket out of Newark.”

In a YouTube video response, Mayor Cory Booker responded by banning Conan from Newark.

Continuing the humorous feud, Conan went on to poke more fun, noting that he now joins a list of other banned items in Newark that include:

  • Deodorant
  • Fresh water
  • College diplomas
  • Cars in the possession of their rightful owner

The clips went back and forth, until the Mayor banned him from the entire state of New Jersey. In turn, Conan banned the mayor from California. Conan films in Burbank.
