Noelia F. Chapa has been appointed as Interim Assistant City Manager for the city of Coachella, as announced by city officials on Monday.
Chapa began her duties on Monday, following the retirement announcement of assistant city manager, Steve Brown. While Brown won’t retire effectively until February, he will use unused paid leave until then.
The Coachella City Council will not likely pull the trigger on a permanent assistant city manager until it finds its new city manager, a decision that is expected in March.
