Building upon almost two decades of experience serving the residents of Stanislaus County in local government and the California State Legislature, Dave Cogdill announced he will run for Stanislaus County Assessor.

Cogdill worked eight years in the Mono County Assessor’s office, serving the two final years as chief appraiser.  In addition to his dedication to public service, the Senator ran a successful real estate appraisal business in Modesto for 26 years.

“After much prayer and consultation with family and friends, I’ve decided to move forward with this exciting opportunity to stay connected to my community and continue the great work of current Assessor Doug Harms and his capable staff.  With my extensive real estate valuation experience both in the private and public sectors, I have a unique background to effectively serve Stanislaus County property owners,” said Cogdill.

Cogdill, a longtime believer in community involvement, has called Modesto home for more than 30 years.  In 1981, along with David R. Giomi, MAI, RM, he founded Cogdill & Giomi Real Estate Appraisers.  He and Mr. Giomi sold Cogdill & Giomi Real Estate Appraisers in 2007 to David Cogdill, Jr. and James Cogdill, who continue to operate the business.
