It was also City Administrator Greg Applegate’s first day on the job. He accepted the position after serving as city manager in Dos Palos at an abnormally young age of 27. He became responsible for a staff of 40 and a budget of $3.3 million in Sonora.


Two decades later and reality rings eerily similar.”
