As you know, the California Special Districts Association is a key partner in the Local Taxpayer, Public Safety and Transportation Protection Act.  This act would have a profound impact on the protection of special districts’ revenues.

Therefore, it is important that we make you aware of the status of this measure and provide you with an opportunity to take action and gather more information.

The coalition to Protect Local Taxpayers and Vital Services is reporting having gathered over 700,000 signatures, including 30,000 from volunteers, in order to place their measure on the November 2010 ballot.  The coalition plans to turn in the full one million-plus signatures needed by mid-April.
