The city of Rohnert Park (Sonoma County) is set to hire its permanent city manager, a position currently held by three successive interim managers since last summer.
Gabriel Gonzalez will be the Rohnert Park’s new City Manager. He is currently the top administrator in the city of Mendota (Central Valley).
Gonzalez, 40, will earn a salary of $165,000 annually. According to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, that’s $25,000 less than the last permanent City Manager, Steve Donley, was paid.
“I think he is going to be a great asset to the city,” Rohnert Park City Councilman Joe Callinan told the newspaper. “He’s young, energetic, got some private industry behind him. He hasn’t been in government his whole life.”
