A former City Councilmember was sentenced to five years of probation for the embezzlement of more than $100,000 from a former Sutter County judge and district attorney.
Marianne Geer, the 61-year-old former Colusa City Councilwoman, pleaded no contest in June to stealing $127,000 over three years while working as a receptionist and office manager for Dave Teja, according to the Woodland Daily Democrat.
Geer served seven years on the City Council before losing her re-election in 1996, according to the report.
