The city of Bell released the following statement on Friday afternoon:

In their continued effort to bring accountability and reforms over the previous Administration’s mismanagement and actions and restore transparency and accountability back to Bell City Government, Bell City Councilmembers convened a Special Meeting this morning, and unanimously voted to direct Interim City Attorney James Casso to continue internal investigations and prosecute those responsible for the financial crisis in Bell.

“Today the City Council voted unanimously authorizing me to take the next steps towards potential legal actions against former Bell administrators, former Bell consultants and legal counsel for actions which have occurred that have led to the current situation and crisis. In addition, the City Council issued a legislative subponea seeking official city records that may be on the private email accounts of Robert Rizzo.”
