Pleasant Hill isn’t necessarily new to using eminent domain, and it has again started the process to acquire more land. This time, it’s a dispute between possible lost rent revenues for an apartment complex and the city that could end up with the land being claimed by the city.

The city is pursuing eminent domain to acquire land needed to widen the sidewalks as part of a project to replace the Golf Club Road bridge over Grayson Creek.




To build a bridge that is two feet wider, the city needed to secure land and lighting and temporary construction easements from seven adjacent property owners, including Alderwood Investors, which owns the Brierwood Apartments at 141 Golf Club Road.
