Following the lead of other California cities like LA, Berkeley, Oakland, and Sacramento; San Diego may soon require businesses that do business with the the city to offer benefits to domestic partnerships.

An ordinance that would require contractors doing business with the city of San Diego to offer workers in a domestic partnership the same benefits given to married employees was set to go before the City Council Monday.
