Even though we’re still in 2010, San Diego has begun its 2012 budget process. I’ll give them credit for getting out in front of the issue. But seriously, talk about waiting until the last minute, folks.

Just after the last round of long budget discussions, the city is looking ahead to a balanced budget for 2012. Any miscalculations, and San Diego will fall short of the citizen responsibility to balance the budget, as City Charter Section 69 requires.

Time to sow the seeds of a productive round of discussions.




During the second half of October, at eight budget town halls, citizens can learn proposed changes and plans for the next fiscal period from the men and women in leadership.
