Do term limits that let elected officials serve for 28 years seem a wee bit lax?

Would-be legislators in Fountain Valley think so, saying two longtime councilmen seeking re-election are flouting the spirit of limits adopted in 2004 but not applied retroactively.




“It’s time we get lawmakers and public servants, who are supposed to be the voice of the people, listening to the people,” said Steve Schultz, one of several candidates crying foul.
