A Tustin City Council member is using her lawyer to protest the effects of her own vote. After publicly supporting a reduction in pay and benefits, the City Council member has had a change of heart.

An attorney for Councilwoman Deborah Gavello questioned the Tustin City Council’s decision to change city health plans, charge council members for meals during closed session meetings, and reduce council pay.

All these changes lower the monthly council stipend from $948 to $803.




The letter from Mark Rosen asks that the city reinstate the city’s previous health plans, the $25 per meeting the council members are contributing toward food at their twice-monthly meetings and the $95 pay reduction the council members approved in July.
