The new growth in personal cultivation of medical marijuana throughout California is forcing many cities and counties to consider new regulations.

Anderson City Council will consider Tuesday, Jan. 4, one of the most stringent ordinances controlling the cultivation of medical marijuana in northern California.


A draft ordinance had been prepared in February by the city’s Planning Commission, but the council held off on considering the ordinance until after the November election due primarily to Proposition 19, that if passed would have allowed the recreational use of marijuana without fear of criminal charges throughout California.
