As a staff writer here at PublicCEO I have had the opportunity to bring a wide variety of city reports to your attention.
The goal of this weekly section remains to highlight relevant city council, department, and agency reports and resolutions so that you, our reader can continue to collaborate on what seems to be the dryer side of municipal government.
While most public employees must agree this is true; you also should agree that it is one of the most important aspects of government. Every decision, large or small must be thoroughly documented for employees and the public.
Although these documents are posted on each respected city website, how many people actually go looking for them?
My goal for this section in 2012 is that it can evolve from a column that just highlights a city staff report into a column that draws feedback from your perspective. Whether you are a City Manager in Southern California or a department head in Northern California I want your thoughts.
Finally, I hope that you will email and highlight council actions in your city. You might be surprised that the same action was taken miles away in another part of the state. We want to highlight your city.
