Dixon City Council members authorized its City Manager, Jim Lindley to execute a contract with the Dixon Tribune and Independent Voice to publish legal notices through June 30, 2013. The City received two bids from vendors for all days of the week.
Steve Johnson, Acting City Clerk prepared the staff report which lists the bids as follows:
The Independent Voice
- $4.50 per standard column inch if all City legal notices are published in the Independent Voice whether or not also printed in another publication;
- $5.00 per standard column inch if all City legal notices are published in the Independent Voice, except those which must be published in another publication to meet statutory deadlines for legal notice publication.
- $6.50 per standard column inch (the same as the Dixon Tribune) if legal notices are to be split between all bidding publications.
The Dixon Tribune
- Submitted a bid price of $6.50 per standard column inch.
The City authorized the publication of legal notices in the Dixon Tribune on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s and with the Independent Voice on Friday’s. According to the report, staff supports splitting the publications between the two papers. This decision made by the council has been consistent for the past three years.
