The city council of Santa Clara heard a presentation by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group announcing the “Silicon Valley Turkey Trot” to be held on November 22nd, Thanksgiving Day.
Announcing the event at the council meeting was meant to inform and invite the community to participate. Anyone can register for the Turkey Trot by visiting svturkeytrot.com. The Silicon Valley Turkey Trot is in its 8th year according to the staff report. Proceeds from the event benefit three local charities; Children’s Health Initiative of Santa Clara County, Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Housing Trust of Sana Clara County. All of these charities help valley families meet health, hope, and home needs. The annual Turkey Trot has raised an excess of $2.2 million over the past seven years.
