Located on the shore of the Pacific Ocean in northwestern Orange County, the City of Huntington Beach has a population exceeding 200,000 residents and covers 28 square miles. This vibrant community, known as “Surf City,” represents an ideal location for a local government professional with well-rounded skills to contribute as a key member of the City’s executive management team as the new Assistant City Manager.
Key responsibilities include serving as the coordinating role for the Development Departments and leading the City’s Economic Development efforts. Ideally, top candidates will be familiar with the dissolution issues related to redevelopment agencies and have an understanding of the requirements of “winding down” activities of the RDA. Experience with labor relations will also be important. Ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a similar field and have five (5) years of experience at the department director level, preferably as a Deputy or Assistant City Manager. Salary range for this position is $165,384 to $204,876, with an excellent benefit package.
