Officials with the San Antonio, Texas Municipal Court system wanted to ease courtroom congestion with virtual transactions identical to that of the municipal court. Working with Council Global Partner Cisco, they opened up audio and video enabled kiosks in three neighborhood locations where residents could conveniently take care of routine Municipal Court offenses, conversing with a judge and paying any fines owed at the kiosk.
“We were looking to develop a replica of the municipal court process, but bring it to the communities, instead of our constituents having to physically displace themselves to a crowded court,” said Presiding Judge John Bull.
