La Canada Flintridge logo LCFThe City of La Cañada Flintridge, in partnership with Caltrans and Metro, will complete the planned program construction for Phase III of the Soundwall Project on Interstate 210 Freeway, which consists of three sound wall segments along I-210. The installation of sound walls will increase the quality of life for nearby residents by helping to mitigate noise levels and pollution caused by Interstate 210 Freeway.

The three sound wall segments comprising the Phase III project and anticipated to be completed in early 2023 are as follows:  1) Segment S311A & B Southside of I-210 between Alta Canyada and St Francis Place; 2) Segment S335 Southside of I-210 between Vineta Avenue and the East-Bound On-Ramp at Georgain Road; 3) Segment S336 Northside of I-210 between Baptiste Way and the West-Bound On-Ramp at Crown Avenue.

“We are excited to move forward with Phase III of this project,” said Mayor Terry Walker. “On behalf of the City, we would like to thank former Mayor and current Senator Anthony J. Portantino for being supportive and playing an instrumental role in getting approval of the $5 million Senate Bill 1 Local Partnership Program funds.”

The City created a dedicated webpage for Phase III of the project to give community members access to additional information about the project, ask questions and sign up to receive emails regarding the construction. The page also features a weekly-updated Q&A section to answer questions posed by community members.
