We are thrilled to announce that the Watsonville City Council unanimously appointed Rene Mendez as the new City Manager!
Rene comes to the City of Watsonville with three decades of experience in state, county, and city government and has spent the last 17 years serving the community of Gonzales as the City Manager. The first-generation Mexican American holds a master’s degree in public policy from Duke University and has broad experience in working in and for demographically and geographically diverse communities. We look forward to welcoming him to Watsonville this coming July!
