The City of Victorville announced that Brian Fallon, a current Victorville Fire Department Battalion Chief with more than 20 years of experience, has been appointed to the role of Fire Chief effective June 3.

He has proven skills in emergency management, interoperability, project management, hazmat, and tactical response. Fallon holds numerous certifications including the Chief Officer Certification from the California State Fire Marshal, Extended Attack Incident Commander, and Strike Team/Task Force Leader.

“Brian is proof that we have great talent and strong leaders in our Victorville Fire Department,” said Victorville City Manager Keith C. Metzler. “Drawing on his tremendous leadership skills, experience, and collaborative management approach; Brian will make an excellent Chief. We are excited for Brian to take our Victorville Fire Department to the next level.”

A California native, Fallon earned his Bachelor of Science in Fire Science Administration from Waldorf University. He earned his paramedic certification from Mount San Antonio Community College where he also served as a fire technology instructor for seven years. He began his career as a paramedic in 2000 with American Medical Response and continues to be a certified paramedic.

“I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve the City of Victorville as fire chief. It is humbling to lead an incredible group of firefighters with amazing potential,” said Victorville Fire Chief Brian Fallon. “I am also thankful to our City leaders for this vote of confidence. I look forward to working with our firefighters and City leadership to provide exceptional customer service to our community.”

Fallon will assume leadership responsibilities from Jeff Armstrong who has served as VFD Fire Chief since February 2021.

“Chief Fallon is joining Victorville Fire at an exciting time as we have successfully completed labor negotiations and improved our fire rating,” said Metzler. “Now, we can focus on developing a management support structure that will further elevate our responsiveness to our Victorville community.”
