City of Hayward logoHayward City Manager Kelly McAdoo has appointed Brittney Frye the City’s next human resources director, the City announced today.

Frye is coming to the City of Hayward from public-serving Alameda County agencies where she has served in human resources director and manager roles since 2016.  She will begin her new position with the City on January 3, 2023.

“Brittney will bring familiarity with Hayward and strong Human Resources experience to our organization at an important time as our community and municipal government continue to evolve and prepare for a post-pandemic future,” McAdoo said.  “We are excited to have Brittney join the City and we look forward to welcoming her in the new year.”

As human resources director, Frye will oversee the City’s Human Resources Department and serve as a member of its executive team.

“I am honored to join the City as the director of human resources and to have the opportunity to help build upon the great work in place while continuing to drive an inclusive culture, attract top talent, and create meaningful and positive work experiences for the City,” Frye said.

“Hayward’s core values of openness, caring, and integrity are central to my own and I am looking forward to supporting all staff in the wide variety of exceptional services provided to the Hayward community,” she added.

Since September 2021, Frye has been human resources director of First 5 Alameda, which operates and supports services focused on early development and the health and well-being of children during their first five years.

Between November 2016 and September 2021, she served in interim and permanent roles as human resources manager of the Alameda County Fire District, as well as a labor relations analyst for the County of Alameda from November 2016 to February 2019.

Frye is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College of California where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in leadership and organizational studies.
