City of Hercules logoThe City of Hercules is hosting a citywide clean-up event and residents are invited to attend this free event to dispose of their waste. The annual event will be held Saturday, May 6, from 8-11 AM at Corporation Yard, 1000 Sycamore Avenue. Clean-up day provides residents with an effective way to get rid of outdoor trash, yard waste and more.

The Community Clean-Up Day is a great way to take care of our City proactively and provide residents with another free way to dispose of trash,” stated Mayor Alexander Walker-Griffin. “Beyond enhancing Hercules, the development of this event is one of multiple measures taken by the City to ensure that the needs of our community are being met.”

The City will be providing a dumpsite to receive the permitted waste products. Outdoor waste including yard clippings and tree limbs, as well as indoor trash such as small appliances and furniture, can be discarded at the Clean-Up event. However, e-waste and household hazardous waste are not applicable for Clean-Up Day and need to be disposed of in a safe manner outside of the event.

As the event is designed specifically for Hercules residents, Clean-Up Day participants must show identification of residency. Residents will also be required to unload their own vehicles. Enclosed U-Haul-type vehicles are not permitted at the event, but trucks are allowed. Construction or commercial dumping is also not permitted at this event.
