At the July 18, 2023 regular meeting, the LCF City Council selected Richard B. Gunter III as mayor and Michael T. Davitt as mayor pro tem. City Council annually selects one of its members to serve as mayor and one member to serve as mayor pro tem during its July meeting.
Prior to passing the baton, former Mayor Keith Eich expressed his gratitude to his Council and residents for their support, patience and perseverance over his year-long term. Following, Council Member Terry Walker thanked Eich for his commitment to the City and nominated Richard B. Gunter III for mayor. Council unanimously voted to appoint Gunter as mayor, and he accepted the ceremonial gavel from outgoing Mayor Keith Eich.
Mayor Gunter continued the meeting by asking for mayor pro tem nominations, where he nominated Michael T. Davitt. With no additional nominations, Council moved with a unanimous vote to appoint Davitt.
“We thank outgoing Mayor Eich for his contributions to our City over the last year,” said City Manager Daniel Jordan. “We are confident Mayor Gunter and Mayor Pro Tem Davitt will continue to make LCF a better place to live, work and visit.”
