City of PetalumaThe City of Petaluma is pleased to announce the hiring of Caitlin Corley as its next City Clerk, a critical role for the City that manages local elections, public meeting agendas/minutes, official City records, and public requests for information. As a City Council-appointed position, Caitlin’s employment agreement is scheduled to be approved at the City Council meeting on December 4, 2023.  

A Bay Area native and a passionate public servant, Caitlin brings over twelve years of municipal government experience with the Town of Colma, including the past eight as its city clerk. In addition to managing all of the core City services of the City Clerk’s office, Caitlin has also managed multiple important technology implementations for Colma, including their transition from all-paper records to a digital records management system and the facilitation of Colma’s hybrid/remote meetings in response to the COVID pandemic. 

Caitlin received bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and political science from Santa Clara University and completed a Master of Public Administration at San Francisco State University. She attained the Certified  Municipal Clerk (CMC) certification from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2015 and, in  2021, was an Award of Distinction recipient from the City Clerks Association of California.

Caitlin will continue to enhance our Clerk’s office role as the hub of open and accessible  government and as a knowledgeable, reliable, and impartial resource for the community.” 

Caitlin added: “I’m very excited to be joining the Petaluma team. This is such a beautiful and unique City;  it’s an honor to be able to serve this community as its next city clerk.” 

Caitlin currently resides in San Francisco and expects to move to Petaluma in the new year. She enjoys reading, watercolor painting and spending time with family. 

Her first day of employment with the City will be December 11, 2023, and her annual salary will be $171,478.
