Erickson-Hall Construction logoErickson-Hall Construction Co. is proud to announce the appointment of Vice President Scott Hammond to the legislative advisory committee with the California Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH). This appointment reflects Hammond’s and Erickson-Hall’s expertise and commitment to advancing the interests of California’s educational infrastructure.

CASH is a leading organization dedicated to promoting, developing and supporting state and local funding for K-12 construction. Established in 1978 in response to the decline in statewide resources allocated to school facilities CASH now boasts a membership of over 1,200 professionals who are involved in school facilities from both the public and private sectors. As a member of the legislative advisory committee Mr. Hammond will play a vital role in shaping policies and advocating for initiatives that contribute to improving educational facilities across the state.

Erickson-Hall has been a strong supporter of CASH for the last 25 years. During that span members of the team, including Hammond, have presented on panels related to specific construction topics at the annual conference, regional monthly workshops and Chief Building Official (CBO)/Facility boot camps.

“Erickson-Hall is a firm believer in professional development and making our industry stronger,” said Hammond. “Proudly, we have selected employee-owners to participate in the CASH School Facilities Leadership Academy every year for the last decade. This program provides an extensive overview of school facilities from planning, funding, designing, constructing and the handling of political pressures that happen during operation of a school district.”

Hammond has been a member of CASH since 2004. He was appointed to the legislative advisory committee for two two-year terms accounting for a max of four years filling one of the four private sector seats.

“By involving ourselves with CASH, we acknowledge the challenges school districts face when it comes to the construction and modernization of school facilities,” Hammond remarked. “Erickson-Hall is viewed as a leading  General Contractor and Construction Manager. School districts appreciate our knowledge, approach, and understanding of all phases of construction from pre-construction, construction, through completion and close-out..”

Recently Hammond attended a legislative committee workshop to further discuss the needs and challenges facing California’s public school facilities. This workshop was an opportunity for CASH and the legislative committee to collaborate and find solutions to the conditions and quality of California’s educational facilities.

“We are extremely proud to have Scott Hammond represent Erickson-Hall Construction Co. on the legislative advisory committee with CASH,” said President of Erickson-Hall, Mat Gates. “Hammond’s passion for advancing educational infrastructure aligns perfectly with our company values, and we are confident that his contributions will have a positive impact, not only on Erickson-Hall but on the future of California school facilities as a whole.”
