Sen. Richard D. Roth, District 31, announced to City of Jurupa Valley officials the award of $3 million from the State’s Manufactured Housing Opportunity & Revitalization Program (MORE). This funding will assist mobilehome owners to make repairs or safety upgrades to their homes.
“This award is the result of a collaborative effort, and Senator Roth played a crucial role in securing funding and his partnership is greatly appreciated,” said Mayor Chris Barajas. “The residents of our 15 manufactured home parks will benefit greatly from the $3 million of funding that will make much-needed health and safety repairs to their homes.”
In early 2024, mobilehome residents will be able to apply through the City of Jurupa Valley for assistance to help make needed repairs including plumbing, roofing, heating, ventilation, electrical, and other qualifying work. The City will identify and give priority to the most in-need households first, and once these residents are served, will open up funding to the remaining mobilehome owners on a first come basis until funds are depleted.
“Mobilehome parks and their residents are an essential ingredient to vibrant and thriving communities,” said Sen. Roth. “The funds we have secured will provide financial assistance to make needed mobilehome repairs, improving residents’ health and safety, and contributing to the quality of life of their mobilehome park.”
