City of Palm Desert logoStarting January 29, 2024, the City of Palm Desert will begin a new project to rewire traffic signals and replace traffic equipment at multiple intersections within the city. The project aims to enhance the functionality and overall performance of signals at key intersections.

While the construction work will be performed during the evening hours, each intersection will have a temporary non-operational status for up to three days. Appropriate temporary traffic control devices will be installed during construction. The intersections affected by these improvements include:

  • January 29 & February 26 – El Paseo & San Pablo Avenue
  • February 5 – Portola Avenue & Rutledge Way
  • February 12 & 19 – Country Club Drive & Monterey Avenue
  • February 19 – Monterey Avenue & Hovley Lane West
  • February 19 & 26 – Country Club Drive & Park Center – Barington Drive
  • February 26 – Country Club Drive & Oasis Club Drive – Tamarisk Row Drive
  • March 4 – Country Club Drive & Eldorado Drive
  • March 11 – Highway 111 & Hospitality Row
  • March 11 – Highway 111 & Deep Canyon Road

Please note that the schedule may change due to inclement weather and traffic delays may occur at these intersections on their rewiring date. It is encouraged that residents and commuters take alternate routes to avoid delays. The City of Palm Desert expresses appreciation for the community’s cooperation and understanding during these essential infrastructure improvements.
