The California City Management Foundation (CCMF) is excited to announce the addition of a valuable new member resource: free mental health services, effective July 1, 2024. Recognizing the importance of mental health in this demanding field, CCMF is excited to introduce a service aimed at helping city managers cope with the stress of the profession and maintain their mental well-being.
“We’re thrilled to introduce this resource for CCMF members,” said CCMF Executive Director Ken Pulskamp. “City management is a high-pressure field, and it’s essential for city managers to have a supportive environment to manage the stresses of their roles.”
CCMF is partnering with Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Beverly Foo-Colon, a seasoned psychotherapist who specializes in mental health and work-life balance. In partnership with Colon, CCMF will offer this new service remotely through Doxy.me, a confidential and secure tele-therapy platform. The services include:
- One personalized initial evaluation
- Three to six free individual therapy sessions, with the option to continue beyond six sessions in consultation with Colon
“To guarantee access for all members, we are pleased to provide this service remotely,” Pulskamp said. “Regardless of where you are, you can take advantage of this resource and prioritize your mental health.”
CCMF and Beverly Foo-Colon are dedicated to maintaining strict confidentiality between members and the clinical provider. As the resource is solely reserved for CCMF members, membership will be verified prior to starting sessions. To learn more about becoming a member, please visit CCMF’s website.
