On June 5, 2024, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) elected Yucca Valley Town Council Member Rick Denison to serve as Vice President for the Fiscal Year 2024-25 term. Prior to his election as Vice President, Denison served as the Chair of SBCTA’s Transit Committee.

SBCTA serves more than two million residents in San Bernardino County and is responsible for cooperative regional planning and furthering a cost-effective and efficient multi-modal transportation system countywide. Through their work, SBCTA seeks to improve the quality of life and mobility of residents and visitors.

“I am honored to serve as Vice President of SBCTA,” shared Denison. “Creating a reliable transportation system is key to helping residents and visitors have access to resources in the area. I am looking forward to supporting Board President Ray Marquez and collaborating with each member of SBCTA as we seek to improve the transportation systems across San Bernardino County.”

Denison was elected to the Yucca Valley Town Council in 2014 and was reelected in 2018 and 2022. He served as Mayor in 2018 and 2022 and as Mayor Pro Tem in 2017. He also represents Yucca Valley as a Regional Council Member, Energy and Environment Committee Member and Voting Delegate for Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG).

Councilman Denison is a longtime resident of San Bernardino County who, prior to his retirement, served in the Mojave Desert area for the San Bernardino County Fire Department for 32 years.
