The City of Hawthorne is experiencing a wave of economic growth. New businesses are opening their doors, local infrastructure is undergoing widespread upgrades and parking solutions are expanding across the City.

“Hawthorne is entering an exciting chapter,” said Business Connect Chair Kimberly Mack. “We’re dedicated to creating a community where everyone can thrive, and our local economy is benefitting because of it.”

The City of Hawthorne is excited to welcome the following businesses:

Modernizing Infrastructure

In addition to these new businesses, Hawthorne is poised for significant growth with plans for a modern expansion of its City Hall. This multi-year project will consolidate services and revitalize the downtown civic center, supporting the City’s vision for a thriving urban core. The upgraded facilities and public spaces are designed to attract private investment and mixed-use development, positioning Hawthorne as the South Bay’s premier live, work and play destination.

New City Hall Expansion Highlights:

  • A three-story addition featuring new City Council chambers

  • A 5,600 square foot event terrace for community gatherings

  • A meeting room available for community use

  • A 239-stall parking structure to accommodate visitors

  • A 2.5-acre public park with a performance lawn, playground and garden

  • Designated spaces for farmers markets, outdoor movies and various events

Improving Accessibility

To improve accessibility, Hawthorne has introduced a one-way parking zone on 126th St., between Hawthorne Blvd. and Grevillea Ave., to alleviate congestion around City Hall. This change increases parking availability for visitors, making it easier to access City services. Additionally, the City Hall parking expansion reflects the City’s commitment to effective parking management. The expansion of the T-parking program will further maximize on-street parking and improve overall traffic flow.

These initiatives reflect Hawthorne’s commitment to improving accessibility and providing a positive experience for residents and visitors as the City continues its path of economic growth.
