The City of Arroyo Grande has been recognized with an Award of Excellence in Transportation Planning for its Active Transportation Plan by the American Planning Association (APA) California, Central Coast Section, as part of its 2025 Planning Awards. The award highlights the City’s commitment to innovative and forward-thinking transportation planning that enhances mobility, safety, and quality of life for the community.

This prestigious award was presented in recognition of the City’s outstanding transportation planning efforts, undertaken in collaboration with KTUA Landscape Architecture and Planning, and Central Coast Transportation Consulting. Each year, the APA Central Coast Section honors projects and plans that demonstrate excellence in urban and regional planning, with the Transportation Planning Award specifically recognizing outstanding efforts in improving transportation systems through comprehensive, inclusive, and impactful planning.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from the APA,” said Brian Pedrotti, Director of Community Development for the City. “This award reflects the dedication of our staff, community members, and partners in creating a more connected and accessible Arroyo Grande.”

The winning plan was selected by a panel of planning professionals and APA members from across the region and will be submitted for consideration at the statewide APA California Awards later this year.
