Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) is headed to Long Beach for the League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference & Expo taking place October 8–10. The firm will be represented by Founding Partner Jon Holtzman and Partners Rubin E. Cruse, Jr. and Andrew Shen, as well as Senior Associate Anastasia Bondarchuk and Associates Maribel Lopez and Lisa Sharkey.

RPLG will present two sessions during this year’s conference. On Thursday, October 9, Rubin will share insight during a panel on “CEQA and Fire Prevention Efforts.” The discussion will address the urgent need for developing new housing in California while managing the inherent risks of placing developments at the wildland/urban interface. Panelists will cover recent legislative developments, wildfire-related court cases in California and guidance for preparing legally defensible wildfire analysis in CEQA documents.

Later that afternoon, Andrew will participate in a session titled “Affordable Housing: What City Attorneys (and Cities) Need to Know.” The session will explore California’s evolving housing laws. Attendees will gain insights into the perspectives of attorneys who represent affordable housing developers, challenges developers face and common misunderstandings city attorneys and clients face regarding affordable housing projects.

“We are excited to connect with local leaders, clients and colleagues at the Cal Cities Annual Conference & Expo,” said Jon. “These sessions provide us the opportunity to discuss some of California’s most pressing issues and share strategies that attendees can put into practice immediately.”

RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies, nonprofit entities, individuals and private entities in need of effective, responsive and creative legal solutions.
