Madison AI is leading the shift in local government use of artificial intelligence (AI) to complete everyday government knowledge work. The company’s capabilities were recently recognized with the “Most Innovative Solution” award at the 2025 State of GovTech PitchFest. With nearly 50 new customer deployments in the last 18 months, agencies are using Madison AI to automate operational workflows, saving hundreds of staff hours every month. Recent customer additions include Addison, TX, Santa Clara Valley Water Authority, CA, City of Fresno, CA, Washoe County, NV, City of Las Vegas, NV, and City of Aspen, CO.
“Governments want AI that reflects how their organizations actually work,” said Erica Olsen, chief executive officer of Madison AI. “Off-the-shelf tools have value, but only purpose-built AI utilizing unique data and records can actually tackle the specialized and nuanced work governments complete every day. Madison AI is taking the theory out of AI and delivering valuable results.”
To support continued deployments and product development, Madison AI recently secured a seed funding round and new investments from CreativeCo Capital, BarronKent Ventures, GovTech Ventures, and other leading GovTech veterans like Tom Spengler and Javier Muniz.
“Madison AI is redefining how local governments operate by providing skilled AI agents that reflect the Madison AI team’s deep understanding of public sector workflows,” said Travis Parsons, managing partner of CreativeCo Capital. “Their platform doesn’t just automate work; it greatly empowers staff and puts public service at the forefront of every decision. We’re excited to support their mission to modernize government operations nationwide.”
Madison AI creates a government’s AI solely from its data, integrating decades of records from enterprise systems and internal documents into assistants that support staff and elected officials in performing complex, document-intensive tasks with accuracy. Madison AI’s assistants and agents are purpose-built for the major internal operating functions of local government, automating or augmenting workflows across departments such as drafting comprehensive staff reports, generating zoning verification letters, drafting complete RFPs, and more. Washoe County, NV, co-created Madison AI to bring tailored AI solutions to local government.
