Tripepi Smith logoThis summer, Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) rolled out a trio of new programs: Battery Bonus Connect, Solar Plus Connect and PeakSmart Savers. Battery Bonus Connect offers home batteries and installation at no cost for income-eligible households with existing solar systems. Customers without existing solar panels can apply for Solar Plus Connect, which provides affordable solar panel and battery system installations to qualified customers. Meanwhile, PeakSmart Savers helps customers lower their electricity bills by offering reduced rates in exchange for reducing energy use during designated PeakSmart Days.

CEA tapped Tripepi Smith to provide communications and marketing support for the program launches. Tripepi Smith designed webpages for the programs, providing technical and content support along with press releases, newsletters, physical mailers and social media campaigns to help spread awareness and encourage participation. The summer marketing campaign resulted in over 100 active enrollments between the programs.

Battery Bonus Connect and Solar Plus Connect are financed through California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program, which had limited funding, making it crucial for CEA to encourage as many qualified customers as possible to apply while funding was still available.

“With these programs, time is of the essence,” said CEA Chief Executive Officer Greg Wade. “The Tripepi Smith team did an excellent job at delivering high-quality content, materials and support quickly, helping us ensure our customers have the best chance to take advantage of this funding opportunity.”

The Battery Bonus Connect and Solar Plus Connect programs will help improve local energy reliability and affordability for those enrolled, offering backup power and lowering electricity bills. Additionally, the PeakSmart Savers program offers most residential customers on-peak and off-peak rates that are 30% lower in exchange for shifting energy use during days with forecasted high grid demand.

Tripepi Smith Director Sara Madsen and Senior Business Analyst Peter Johnson led the campaign and content strategy, while Business Analyst Kendall Lowery directed the project management process on a variety of deliverables, supported in execution by Junior Business Analysts Sofia Gonzalez and Ted Hwang.

“CEA continues to advance affordable and sustainable energy options for its communities,” said Sara. “Tripepi Smith was glad to assist in connecting customers to these three programs.”
