On March 17, 2026, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the City of Angels City Council approved the appointment of Michael Hodson as the City’s new City Administrator, following a competitive recruitment process conducted with the assistance of executive search firm Peckham & McKenney. Mr. Hodson is expected to begin his role on March 30, 2026.
The City Administrator serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City, responsible for implementing City Council policy, overseeing municipal operations, managing financial activities, and ensuring the effective delivery of services to residents and businesses. Mr. Hodson’s annual salary will start at $168,896.
The recruitment attracted 36 applicants, with six candidates selected for interviews by panels composed of City Council members and City department heads. Following this process, Mr. Hodson was identified as the candidate best suited to lead the organization and guide the City forward.
Mr. Hodson brings several advanced degrees, including a Master of Business Administration, and more than five years of progressively responsible public agency management experience in senior administrative roles comparable to a City Administrator or Assistant City Administrator.
Mayor Caroline Schirato welcomed the appointment and expressed confidence in the City’s new administrative leader.

The position of City Administrator has been vacant since September 12, 2025, and the appointment represents an important step in strengthening the City’s leadership team and continuing the City’s commitment to effective local government.
