EPIC’s Power Choice program offers a path to clean energy and entry into an electric vehicle giveaway

Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice (EPIC), the City of Palmdale’s locally managed, not-for profit power provider, is excited to offer residents access to clean energy solutions and a chance to win a new electric vehicle or $35,000 cash through the Power Choice EV Giveaway Contest. This limited-time opportunity enables residents to power their home with reliable solar and battery storage alongside a chance to win unique prizes through the program giveaway. 

Sponsored and funded exclusively with private monies by Participate.Energy, the EV giveaway is open to current Power Choice residential customers, as well as new customers who enroll by May 31, 2026, and complete installation by August 31, 2026. Eligible participants may enter for a chance to win a new electric vehicle or $35,000 cash. 

EPIC’s Power Choice program makes solar and battery storage accessible to customers with no down payment, no credit check and no property liens required. Program participants pay only for the clean energy they use through their regular electric bill, subject to a fixed 1.9% annual rate increase. 

By choosing solar and battery storage through Power Choice, residents gain multiple advantages. The battery systems store excess solar energy generated during the day, allowing households to reduce their dependence on fossil fuel power plants and use that clean power during evening peak hours (4 to 9 p.m.) when electricity rates are highest. The systems also provide critical backup power for essential appliances and medical devices during outages. 

To enter the Power Choice EV Giveaway Contest, eligible participants must submit their contact information, a brief description of their Power Choice experience and its impact on their lives and a photo of themselves with their installed system.
