The Town Council will vote at their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 15, on a contract to approve Heather Abrams as Yountville’s next Town Manager. After an extensive recruitment process, the Town Council unanimously selected Abrams as their top candidate.

The recruitment included input from community members and Town employees about what they would like to see in Yountville’s next Town Manager. The Town Council conducted interviews with finalists before identifying Abrams as its preferred candidate.

“Yountville is a special community, and throughout this process the Council was focused on finding someone who understands what makes our town unique while also helping us plan thoughtfully for the future,” Mayor Margie Mohler said. “Heather’s experience leading a small North Bay community and her collaborative approach stood out to us. We are excited to introduce her to Yountville and move forward with consideration of an employment agreement.”

Abrams has served as Town Manager of Fairfax since 2022, leading municipal operations serving approximately 7,500 residents and managing a $22 million annual operating and capital improvement budget. Her work in Fairfax includes economic development, financial and personnel matters, labor negotiations, housing and development, and partnerships with regional agencies and community organizations.

Abrams holds a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She also holds an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School and is an ICMA Credentialed Manager.

“I’m honored to be selected as the next Town Manager for Yountville,” Abrams said. “This is an exciting opportunity in a great community with an excellent team. I’m looking forward to meeting the community and getting started.”
The proposed employment agreement will be included with the Town Council agenda materials for the September 15 meeting.
